Microsoft Innovation Centers (MIC) are Public-Private Non Profit Associations dedicated to enhance the Local Software Economy. That means helping startups, entrepreneurs, existing IT companies or students to (a) innovate and (b) create IT jobs in the Walloon, Flanders & Brussels regions.  Microsoft nv is one of the founding partners of this Association.


For the MIC Mons (Walloon Region, French-speaking), we are looking for the following services.  Are you looking to offer your services to a Microsoft authorized services supplier, then the services Microsoft is  looking for, might be of some interest to you.

Service to be provided

The service shall consist in:

  • Providing operational services including the responsibility for MIC facilities and operations, personnel (5 FTE) and reporting to the board and Microsoft. Building and requesting annual budgets working with the MIC board. Managing MIC utilization, customer satisfaction, operating expenses, and ROI to meet or exceed set targets. Be single point-of-contact for MIC Mons activities, information, and reporting.  
  • Being the Microsoft face for MIC Mons and represent MIC on internal and external events. In addition building animated media relationships and communication channels through on and off-line engines as part of the overall MIC PR and communication strategy.
  • Leading the development of overall MIC Mons strategy, offerings and planning process. Be the driver of the Local Software Economy initiatives, develop innovative processes and plans for building strong result in line with objectives and commitments.
  • Developing strategic relationships with technology partners, government authorities, sector and regional partners, small industrial actors (SMEs), and financing sources. Positioning the development of innovative technology solutions to internal and external parties and work collaboratively to determine the best combination/course of action for a given opportunity.
  • Nurturing opportunities and accelerate them to the Microsoft platform, working closely with the virtual MIC team in Microsoft. Building trust with customers and partners and enable their decision-making process using consultative techniques.
  • Scheduling MIC resources appropriately for delivery of activities. Coordinating with affiliated virtual teams and partners to the maximum benefit of the MIC Customers. Overseeing the delivery of MIC activities, ensuring high quality, consistent deliverables and high customer satisfaction. Accessing and using the business reporting tools to track progress and results.
  • Attracting, hiring, developing, and carrying overall responsibility for all MIC personnel. Developing consistent goals and objectives, providing support for competency development, delivering performance reviews, and being responsive to team and individual needs. Fostering an environment that values diversity, respect, and open communication.
  • Building constructive relationships with peers in worldwide MIC community, and working hand in glove with the MIC’s in Flanders (Genk/Kortrijk) and Brussels, maximizing reuse and learning’s. Sharing learning’s with others in the MIC community, field and partners.

What are we asking?

  • Candidates must have a degree in higher education.
  • 10 years of experience in customer or partner facing roles, preferable in the ICT industry, with demonstrated project management and strategic thinking skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of line management experience.
  • Good knowledge of technology trends, industry participants and competition.
  • Experience in working with public sector actors is a plus.
  • Methodical and organized; able to manage multiple opportunities, projects, and relationships concurrently, with demonstrated ability to effectively execute strategic plans.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and gain trust.
  • A team player and excellent at cross-group collaboration and working in virtual teams.
  • Native French speaker with good written and spoken knowledge of English.
